First our dearest friends Ed & Julie Kerns came down to spend some time with us. I looked forward to their visit for weeks. They arrived on Thursday evening. I fixed a nice dinner for us to enjoy here and we spent the rest of the evening catching up on the latest news. Friday morning hung out and relaxed as we had some other friends coming to join us for lunch. I know how awesome is that to have two sets of friends visiting in the same weekend. Bob and Jan Batiste and their daughter Cassie joined us for lunch and we all had a wonderful time. The Batiste's used to go to the church we attended in Columbus. Haven't seen them sine Cassie was a baby. (She's 17 now) Way to long!

Friday afternoon after the Batiste's left Julie and I hopped in the truck and headed for downtown New Bern to check out the stores and get in a walk after that lunch. The guys too jumped in Mike's truck and headed over to Precision Moulding and Woodworking to pick out some boards for our dinning room table and to drool over all the awesome wood working equipment, wood and such what not.

Saturday morning we went to the Farmers Market in town and picked up some goodies. Then headed over to Stingrays for some lunch. After lunch we headed to Kinston to visit the USS Neuse Museum. Which by the way was awesome.

After touring the Museum we took a drive over to Washington, NC to attend the Smoke on the Water festival. We were a little late and so many things were shut down, but it was a pretty walk by the water.
Sunday was spent relaxing in the morning and then after lunch we headed over to Fort Macon State Park to hang out at the beach. And yes we took the pups with us. You see Ed & Julie brought their dog Nova along. Millie and Nova had a wonderful time as did we all!!!
