Christmas Eve Day

Christmas Eve Day (Sunday) was a quiet one.  We spent the morning with the boys, playing.

Then that afternoon all the ladies gathered in Faith's kitchen to make some cut out Christmas Cookies.  This was going to be the start of a new tradition.  Marian, Christy's Mom, made up a batch of cookies ahead of time and I made some dough that morning to be cut out during the "cookie event".
Jacob had taken a little bit longer nap than we had expected.  You see he is the one that said he wanted to make cookies.  So while I and Faith made the last batch of cookies he worked on getting awake right in his Mama's lap.

My job, roll the dough.

Faith's job was cutting them out and cooking them.

Then the rest of the ladies taught Jacob how to ice them.

Must have picture with my girl.

Aunt Kiki (Christy, but Kiki is what Jacob calls her), gives Jacob a guiding hand.

The ladies working on decorating all these cookies.
Jacob of course was our "quality control" team leader and did a great job at test tasting his creations.
Great Grandma Marian is there to lend a helping hand.

I think that he has got this cookie icing task under control.
Specially if Mom is around to help with all the sprinkles

What a plate full of beautiful cookies.

2017 Baking Crew

While the ladies and Jacob were baking, the rest of the guys, Mike, Kent and Brice hung out in the living room watching football and napping.

Gotta love that son in law of mine, always making faces.
After cookie baking was time to play with the train.

A pretty Christmas Ball on a sweet little tree

Such a peaceful figurine
After the cookies were completed we headed back over to Gary's house for a fun picnic like dinner with all our favorite holiday party food.
Thanks to Cousin Tim's kindness Amanda receive a bacon wrapped water chestnut while feeding Brice.

Such a beautiful Christmas table scape along with a gorgeous tree.
Christmas Eve Day was a wonderful family filled day now, off to bed to Christmas will come.
